Jael Duncan was born about 1751 in Culpeper County, Virginia. Her grandfather William received land on Battle Run from the proprietors of the Northern Neck in 1753, a portion of which was deeded to Jael's father Raleigh. Raleigh Duncan migrated south and west to the Osborne's Ford (now Dungannon) in 1773. Several families followed in the next six years, including that of Samuel Stallard and Peter and James Hutchinson. Jael died between 1808 and 1815.
