Joseph Thomas Taylor, 77, retired oil field pumper moved to Young County in 1906. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
He was raised in the Flint Creek community. Mr. Taylor moved from Duncan, Oklahoma with his mother and six brothers in 1901. He was engaged in ranching and farming. He was an oil company employee before his retirement in 1957.
Survived by his wife; one son - Robert Lee Taylor; one daughter - Mrs. J.G. Baird; two brothers - C.E. and A.B. Taylor; six grandchildren - Mrs. Alvin E. Martin, James Baird, Jerry Don Baird, Mrs. Bobby G. McQueen, Gary Lee Taylor, Larry Wayne Taylor; five great-grandchildren.
