The only child of Judge Herbaugh (1824-1946) and Catharine Rosenbarger. Her father died a few months after she was born. On August 20, 1849, her mother married John Henry Stonecipher.
Rachel had four half-brothers from her mother's second marriage:

Rachel married Civil War veteran Warden Lincoln on April 20, 1865 in Harrison County, Indiana. Warden was a son of Thomas Lincoln and Sarah Weathers, and grandson to Josiah Lincoln, President Lincoln's uncle. They had at least ten children together:

Aged Woman Dies
Mrs. Rachel Lincoln, 85 years old, widow of Ward Lincoln, died last Monday about noon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Florence Austin, near Milltown, following a long illness.
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Milltown Baptist Church in charge of the Rev. Kellum. Burial was in the Milltown cemetery.
Six sons and two daughters survive.
