Louis was born on a farm at Mentor Kansas in 1902. Early in life he quickly became aware of the many challenges of farm life and the hard work involved, so much so, that he was a successful farmer throughout his adult life.
Lou moved to Iowa as a young man, married, rented a farm and a few years purchased that farm and continued to live there until his death. Lou worked for the Rock Island railroad for 24 years and served as a Benton County Supervisor for ten years (1949-1959.) He was a faithful member of the Baptist Church and was an active member of the Shellsburg Masonic Lodge.
He was proud of this three children: Stanley Robert, Jack Willard and Martha Marie. They too were involved with their own farms.
Stanley and Willard both proudly service in WW II. His wife, Agnes, was a marvelous cook and mother. She was a favorite among the family members and they always looked forward to the delicious dishes she brought to the family pot luck gatherings.
Sadly Lou and all his immediate family have left us. They are all greatly missed, but we are happy they can once again be together.
