American film director. Best known for "The Legend of Boggy Creek" and "The Town That Dreaded Sundown," the former being a major influence for "The Blair Witch Project" decades later. One of the first independent film producers, and also was a director, writer and actor. Other films include "Winterhawk," "The Winds of Autumn," "Grayeagle," "The Norseman," "The Evictors" and "Sacred Ground." He coined the phrase, "Go ahead, make my day," as screenwriter for the Clint Eastwood film "Sudden Impact." (bio by: John Andrew Prime)
