Funeral services were to be held today at 3 p.m. at Claybar Chapel for
Harvey John Barbee, 73, of 1511 10th St. who died yesterday at 7:20
after a lengthy illness.
Officiating minister was to be Rev. Herman T. Morgan, pastor of First
Methodist Church. Burial was to be in Jett Cemetery with pallbearers
George Miller, W. B. Palombo, Henry Crew, Alonzo Craft, Oscar Rushing
and Bill Crew.
Barbee was a native of Nebraska, a former warehouseman at Consolidated
Western Steel Division of U.S. Steel and was a member of the First
Methodist church in Orange.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Mary Crew Barbee; son, Jack of Orange;
brothers, Roy of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Fred of Beaumont; sister, Mrs.
Maud Carnett of Des Moines, Ia.; and grandchildren, Carol Sue and Janice
Ann Barbee.
