Evelyn Jackson was born Feb. 21, 1921, in Sherman. Evelyn worked as a riveter during World War II. She was a department manager in retail sales at Monnig's Oaks in River Oaks and also worked several years for Montgomery Ward in retail sales, where she later retired. She and her husband worked with arts and crafts and sold them at the senior citizen fair every fall.
Evelyn loved her family dearly and was a devoted friend to anyone who ever met her. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren and friends. She was the most caring mother in the world and dearly loved her Savior.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, J.W. Jackson.
Survivors: Daughter, Elaine McDowell and husband, Don; sons, Rick Jackson and wife, Aggie, and John Jackson and wife, Connie; sister, Velma Henderson; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
