Martha Ada Rainey Morrison was born in Schley County, Georgia to Thomas Frederick and Mary Dwight Collins Rainey. She was the 13th of 14 children born to this couple - all of whom survived to adulthood. In on December 17, 1885, she married Daniel James Morrison of Schley County, the son of Daniel A. and Lamantha Russell Hixson Morrison. Their first four children (one dying at birth) were born in Schley County. In the mid 1890's, Ada's nephews Stephen Marion Rainey and Henry Thompson Rainey (sons of Reuben Marion Rainey), and William Frederick Rainey (son of Thomas Frederick Rainey, JR) and Marion Jackson "Jack" Wall, Jr. and his wife Annie Elizabeth Rainey Wall (daughter of Thomas Frederick Rainey, Jr) decided to move to Texas with Ada and D.J. Morrison and their children. Ada's oldest brother, Stephen Ridgley Rainey had been living in the Cass County Texas area for about 15 years at the time (he moved in the early 1880's) - Ridgley had moved with his new wife and his 2 maternal aunts (Ann Glenn Collins McMichael and Elizabeth R. Collins Rogers), their husbands and his grandmother, Elizabeth Glenn Collins (wife of Stephen Collins-dec'd) to Cass County, TX. The families had been communicating regularly -via the mail and occasional visits and had enticed some of the younger folks to move to Texas. Therefore the Morrisons ended up in Trinity County and began enlarged their family. D.J. Morrison was a farmer. They had the following children:
Infant (approx 1886), Maggie Mary Morrison Martin, Nellie Russell Morrison Brent, Fred Rainey Morrison, Dwight James Morrison, Vivian Rease Morrison Anderson, Boyce Turner Morrison, Hugh Kenneth Morrison, Infant (1911-1911), and Alma Nina Morrison.
