Clara "Leaston" Frisbee, age 75, of Newport, left to her eternal rest on March 5, 2013.
Leaston was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She worked by her husband's side on the family farm in the New Prospect Community located in Hartford.
She had been an active member of New Prospect Church for many years.
Leaston was well known for her high spirit and laughter. Her homemade caramel cakes will never be forgotten.
Leaston was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; grandson, Joshua Frisbee; parents, Lewis and Eula Ford; In-laws, Martin and Eliza Frisbee; brothers, Ralph, CB, and Ebid Earl Ford; sister, Winnie Williams
Leaston will be greatly missed by children: Kenneth (Jackie) Frisbee of Newport, Earl (Debbie) Frisbee of Hartford, Gene (Lisa) Frisbee of Hartford, Vinson (Susan) Frisbee of Newport, and Teresa (Fred) Laws of Newport. Grandchildren included: Shelby (Shane) Davis, Candace (Matt) McNealy, Kevin (Amber Gray) Frisbee, Jessica (Justin) Taylor, Eric Frisbee, Caleb (Genevive Zaide) Frisbee, Bethany Frisbee, Hannah Laws, Kaylee Frisbee, and Aaron Laws. The great-grandchildren included: Chase Freeman, Callie Whitlock-Frisbee, Cyler Davis, Adisen McNealy, CeeGee McNealy, Cooper Davis, and Maddison and Harley Taylor; her loving sister and best friend, Mary Ellen Baxter; sister-in-laws: Shirley Ford, Mozella Ford, Selma Ogle, Betty Jo Frisbee, and Anita Frisbee; special friends, Brenda Crumbley, JoAnn Jones and Lynn McMillian; also several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 pm Friday, March 8, 2013 in Manes Funeral Home West Chapel, with Rev. Arthur Willis officiating.
Burial will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 9, 2013 in Frisbee-Rathbone Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm -8:00 pm Friday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.
