OBITUARY, Rushville [IN] Republican, Monday, February 29, 1932:
Martha Morris Dies Saturday At Arlington
Mrs. Martha J. Morris, 78, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Brown, Arlington, at 8 o'clock Saturday night. She had been ill for one year and a half from a complication of diseases.
Mrs. Morris was born March 12, 1853, in North Carolina, later moving to Indiana with her family. She resided about 20 years at Dunreith, Ind. She had made her home with Mrs. Brown since last November.
Survivors besides Mrs. Brown include a son, Horace Worth, of Knightstown, and four brothers, Lindley, Emery and Alonzo Pitts, all of near Morristown, and Milton Pitts, of St. Petersburg, Fla.
Eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren also survive.
Another son, Everett, was killed in an automobile accident on the National road more than a year ago.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Little Blue River Friends church with interment in the church cemetery.
