John S. Foreman
The funeral of John S. Foreman, a pioneer of Perry township was held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the family home near Portersville. The services were conducted by Rev. Alex Young of the Mountville United Presbyterian church, of which the deceased was a member. Interment was made in Pleasant Hill cemetery and the pallbearer were six grandsons of the deceased.
Mr. Foreman's death occurred Monday evening after a long illness due to cancer. He had lived in Perry Township almost all his life, coming there from Harmony, Butler County, his birthplace.
By occupation, he was a carpenter and farmer. He is survived by the following children: Abraham of Illinois, Fred of Nebraska, Isaac of Fombell, Mrs. Nancy Jordan, Pittsburg, Mrs. Susan Martin and Mrs. Elzena Mennell of New Brighton, Mrs. J.L. Wimer of this city, and Tillie, Pearl and Charles at home. His wife died about six years ago.
