John "Jack" Andrew Allen, Jr., of Lubbock, went home to our Father on Feb. 27, 2010 at the age of 79.

Jack was born in McAdoo, Dickens County, Texas, on March 19 1930 to the late John Andrew, Sr. and Louise Cleaver Allen. Jack married Lavita Fae Sneed in 1951, and had one son, Jeffery Scott Allen. He attended school in McAdoo and later attended watch maker school. After graduating, he worked for Zales and the Jewel Box in the South Plains Mall until he retired in the mid '90s. Jacks hobbies included rebuilding antique cars, designing and making jewelry, as well as boating.

Jack was preceded in death by his first wife, Fae; second wife, Patricia; parents, John and Louise; sisters, Carol Ann Ivey and Gwen Schikora; brother, Bruce Allen; and his only son, Jeffery Scott Allen.

The survivors he leaves are his granddaughter, Victoria Allen of Lubbock; sister, Margie Ullman of Bend, Ore.; and many nieces and nephews.

The visitation for Jack will be this evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 3, 2010 in Resthaven's Abbey Chapel, with interment at Resthaven. Chaplin Larry Bloskas will officiate.

The family wishes to thank Accolade hospice for all the care and support they provided Jack in his final months; he really enjoyed their company.
