Theda J. Dreese, 86, of North Eighth St., Selinsgrove, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 6, 2009, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born Aug. 13, 1923 in Paxtonville, a daughter of the late Cloyd N. and Elsie M. (Gill) Kerstetter. She was married for 54 years to Ray O. Dreese, who preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 1994.
Theda had been employed at the Groce Silk Mill, National Restaurant, and the Airport Restaurant, all of Selinsgrove.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Selinsgrove,
She enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle, as well as crocheting and sewing.
Her family was the joy of her life and she had a special place for the apples of her eye, her great-great nieces and nephew, McKenna, Delaney, and Griffin Parker.
Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Beverly L. Brown, and Darlene K. and Dennis Attig, all of Selinsgrove; one granddaughter, Angela Hoot; and two great-granddaughters, Casara and Quinn Hoot; two brothers, Irvin Kerstetter, of York, and Robert Kerstetter, of Mesa, Ariz.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Bill Brown, and eleven brothers and sisters; Margaret, William, Fred, James, George, and Cloyd Kerstetter Jr., Thelda Feehrer, Ida Harner, Irma Walter, Elsie Kline, and Norma Haas.
Visitors may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, Selinsgrove and from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's UCC, Selinsgrove, with the funeral at 2. The Rev. Paul W. Cope will officiate.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Selinsgrove.
