Thomas Kephart and Laura P. (Warren) Clifton were united in marriage July 4, 1857, in Henry County, Iowa. Their son, Elwood was born in 1859. Ida joined the family February 2, 1860. Tragedy struck the family when Elwood passed away in October, 1860. Her father enlisted as a Fourth Corporal in the Union army August 4, 1862. He received two promotions and then was wounded November 27, 1863, at Ringgold, Georgia. Ida's mother passed away December 4, 1863. Her dad deserted from 25th Infantry (Iowa) on July 30, 1864. She was listed with Elijah G. and Phoebe Noble's family in the 1870 census. Her father married Amanda Rebecca Wall December 16, 1871, in Miami County, Kansas. She joined their family in Paola, Kansas, by 1880. The family increased by three: Laura, Homer and Vernon Clifton. As you can see per the obituary she marries Ralph Flowers in 1882. I'm not sure how they met.

Sometime after Ralph passed away in 1912, the paths of she and George Clayton Noble (a son of Elijah and Phoebe Noble whom she had lived with after her mother passed away) crossed. His wife, Elizabeth Jane (Eicher) Noble had passed away May 1, 1923, in Iowa. George was living in Crete Nebraska. Ida and George were united in marriage November 7, 1923, in Osborne County, Kansas. The wedding was performed by her son, Clifton. They moved to Long Beach, California. The marriage ended in divorce. Ida moved to Buena Vista, Colorado, where she resided with her son, Harvey Flowers', family until her death.
