"Mrs. Bernice Abbley Emile, 96, of Biloxi, MS, died Tuesday, August 8, 2006. She was born Decmember 30, 1909 in Biloxi and was a lifelong resident of the Coast. Mrs. Emile was a member of Nativity BVM, she graduated from Biloxi High School in 1927. She was also a member of the Biloxi Ladies Golf Club. She enjoyed playing cards and watching soap operas. Mrs. Emile was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Michael Jospeh Emile, daughter Ann Emile Crocker; and grandson, Michael Crocker; and her parents Fred and Viola Caillavet Abbley; brother, Francis F. Abbley; sister, Eunice Brocato. She is survived by her daughter, Beth Rawls and husband, Charlie, from Laurel, MS; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, four nephews and a cousin, Laura Clair Thompson of Long Beach, MS. Visitation will be from 10 until 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2006, at the Marion Chapel of Nativity BVM. Services will be at 11 a.m. Mrs. Emile will be placed at rest at the Biloxi City Cemetery."
