Opal Hearn, age 84, of Crockett, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 1998 at Whitehall Nursing Center in Crockett. Mrs. Hearn was born May 31, 1913 in Nacogdoches County and had been a resident of Houston County for most of her lifetime. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Republic and was a homemaker. Mrs. Hearn was a avid lover of the crocheting and quilt making. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Hearn was preceded in death by her husband, J. B. Hearn; daughter, Kathryn Bass. Survivors include her grandson, Max Burleson of Austin; great-grandson, Aaron Burleson of Austin; great-great-granddaughter, Katie Burleson of Austin; sister, Floy Burleson of Houston; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services for Mrs. Hearn were held Friday, March 27, at 2 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. ArIon Gunnels officiating. Interment followed in the Lovelady Evergreen Cemetery. Callaway-Allee Funeral Home
