PFC Hurtt (a World War 2 Veteran) during the Korean War served with Headquarters Company, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. On November 28, 1950, Hurtt's unit was part of Task Force McLean & assigned to protect the main supply route east of the Chosin Reservoir in North Korea. The Communist Chinese 80th Division attacked their positions & they were ordered to withdraw. Hurtt was Killed in Action, while attempting to break through a road block. His remains were not recovered. Hurtt was awarded the Purple Heart & Combat Infantry Badge. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing.
