Barbara A. Richeson, a life-long Christian woman, full of love and kindness to all those who knew her, passed away on Feb 22, 2010 after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
She was born November 21, 1938. She was a loving, devoted wife to her husband Warren, a terrific mother and grandmother who equally loved her five children and 14 grandchildren. She would never admit she had and any "favorite" and would tell anyone she loved them all the same.
She lived a selfness life. She had a skill for directing attention away from herself and turning the focus instead on her loved ones. She had a deep love for Jesus and taught her children and grandchildren why they should love Him also. All of her grandchildren knew her as Mamaw. She was a safe harbor when they needed loving assistance with everyday problems.
She and Warren were high school sweethearts and were married in 1960.
Barbara was preceded in death by her older brother, Joe Wells; her mother, Rosemary Wells, and her father, Truman Wells.
She is survived by her children, Randy Richeson, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Richele Richeson Ames, of Mesa, Arizona, Elisa Richeson Palich, of Mesa, Eric Richeson, of Homerville, Georgia, and Beth Richeson Dlabik, of Mesa.
Visitation will be on Feb. 24 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sonoran Skies Mortuary, 5650 E. Main St. in Mesa. There will be a Memorial Service at Central Christian Church at 10 A.M. on Feb 25.
Barbara loved her home state of West Virginia and stayed in touch with many of her high school friends. Barbara will be transported back to Paden City, West Virginia for burial services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Alzheimer's Association, Desert Southwest Chapter, 1028 E McDowell Rd., Phoenix AZ 85006
