Guillermina Rivera Ortiz has gone home to be with the Lord, Monday February 22, 2010 at New Life Hospice. She was born in Orocovis Puerto Rico on February 28, 1925.
She came to Lorain in 1956 and returned to the Island to enjoy her retirement in 1970. She was an active member of La Inglesia Bautista de Orocovis Puerto Rico.
A loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she enjoyed praising God and reading His word early in the morning. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, singing, dancing with her grandchildren, and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her 3 children, Luis Ortiz of Lorain, Yasmin Ortiz-Saez of Lorain and Robert Ortiz of Belton Texas, 8 grandchildren, Ryan Ortiz, Angelique Santiago, Jeremy Ortiz, Annette Santiago-Reyes, Megan Ortiz, Yasmin Ortiz, Wilmary Saez and Yasmary Saez, 10 great-grandchildren who were the love of her life, Alejandro, Veronique, Miriam, Christopher, Yamaris, Nadia, Alessandra, Estela, Aurora and Alondra, brother, Jose Rivera of Orocovis Puerto Rico, sisters, Esmerida Mercado of Orocovis Puerto Rico and Leonidez Flores of New Jersey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luis Ortiz, parents, Robustino Rivera and Indalecia Rivas, and sisters, Oliva Rivera, Mryna Ortiz, America Rivas and Virgin C. DeLeon.
Friends may call Wednesday February 24, 2010 from 6-9 PM at Wyers Funeral Chapel 2900 North Ridge Road Sheffield Township and Thursday February 25, 2010 from 9 AM until the time of services at 11 AM at House of Praise International Church 4321 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
