Donald R. Adams, 73, of Winslow passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Waterville Campus in the Critical Care Unit. Don was born in Waterville on Sept. 23, 1936, the son of Joseph and Beatrice (Farmer) Adams. He graduated from Waterville High School, Class of 1954. He married the former Nancy Doody on June 21, 1958, at the Fairfield Church of the Nazarene. They were married for 51 years.
He served in the National Guard for 10 years. He was employed by Keyes Fibre for 46 years as a sealer operator until his retirement in 1999.
Don will be missed by his wife, Nancy Adams of Winslow; his son, Andrew Adams and his wife, Brenda, of Holly Springs, N.C.; his daughter, Donna Burgess and her husband, Robert, and their children, Adam and Leeann of Winslow; a brother, Joseph Adams of Manchester, Conn.; a sister, Pat Nash of Poland Springs; sisters-in-law, Marie Adams of Florida and Gwen Scott and her husband, Norman, of Fairfield; several nieces and nephews and many close friends.
He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Kenneth Adams; sister-in-law, Debbie Adams; and brother-in-law, Bal Nash.
