Christina Barbara Schmidlapp Mouser, daughter of David and Sophia Schmidlapp was born in Germany on the 15th day of April, 1822 and emigrated to the United States in the year 1828, coming first to the city of Cincinnati and later to Jefferson Co in the year 1837.
She was united in marriage to Jacob Mouser in this country on the 23rd day of August, 1842, and who proceeded her to the Great Beyond the 23rd day of October, 1880. As a result of this union fourteen children were born, all of whom reached the age of maturity except for one, Jacob Jr. Her son, David, preceeded her in death, January 14, 1892.
She was a member of Smyrna Presbyterian Church.
During her last days she frequently expressed her faith in the future saying she wanted to go to that better land and one of her last requests was that her children should all meet her in heaven.

This is part of an obituary from the Madison Courier from the 1900's.
