Funeral services will be held Friday, May 20, 2005 at 1:00 PM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Murphy L. Taylor III, age 60, who died Monday, May 16, 2005 at 6:00 PM at Terrebonne General Hospital in Houma.
Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum.
Reverend John Wamsley, Pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church will conduct the Funeral Services. Eulogist will be Jeff Richmond.
Survivors include his wife, Cherry Taylor; two daughters, Tracy Taylor, of Huntington Beach, CA and Cynthia Taylor Moehling and her husband, Matt, of Portland, OR; one son, Murphy Loyd Taylor IV, of Lafayette; step children, Chris Guidry, Marty Guidry, Jamie Primeaux and Rusty Primeaux; four grandchildren, Tyler Palimeno, of Huntington Beach, CA, Daeson Taylor, of Lafayette, Chloe Moehling, of Portland, OR and Cara Taylor, of Lafayette; several step-grandchildren and two sisters, Sandy Taylor and Judy Christenson and her husband, Jack all of Los Gatos, CA; neices and nephews, Sheldon Ferguson of San Jose, CA, Mike Ferguson of Long Beach, CA and Sue Cancilla of San Jose, CA.; and his favorite person to pick on, Annie Benoit. He was preceded in death by his parents, Murphy Loyd Taylor II and Beatrice Smith Taylor.
The Sweet Adelines Chorus will sing for the services.
A native of Southern California and a resident of Lafayette for 12 years, Mr. Taylor worked for Noble Drilling as a STS/EMT.
He had a passion for pets, reading, carpentry and cooking but his favorite pastime was fishing and helping others.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM Thursday and from 9:00 AM until time of services Friday.
Pallbearers are Keith Siemar, Max Smith, Jr., Jamie Primeaux, Chris Perron, Chris Guidry and Tim Breaux.
