John Octave Lefevre, aged 74, a veteran of the Civil war, died early yesterday morning at his home at 38 Hazel street after several weeks illness.
Mr. Lefevre was born in Montreal in 1841. When the Civil war broke out he enlisted in the Seventh Vermont regiment and served through the war, attaining the rank of corporal. In 1872 he settled in Rutland and had since been a resident of this city. Since 1910 Mr. Lefevre had been janitor of the Watkins avenue school. He was a member of the Canado-American club.
Mr. Lefevre is survived by three sons, Arthur and Lewis of Rutland, and John of Brattleboro, two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Greeno of Wallingford and Mrs. Angie Yando of Fitchburg, Mass., and by a sister, Mrs. Angeline LeClair of Keeseville, N.Y.
The funeral will be held Monday morning at 8 o'clock in the Church of the Sacred Heart of Mary.
