HOYT --- Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Hoyt for Valerie Bausch, 85, Hoyt, who died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at a Topeka care center.

She was born March 24, 1917, in Atchison, to Charles E. and Myrtle F. Andres Green, and had lived in the Hoyt community since 1933. She was a cook for Royal Valley public schools before she retired.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and Hoyt Chapter No. 189 of Order of Eastern Star, both in Hoyt, and Senior Citizens Centers in Hoyt and Holton.

She married James Bausch on Sept. 17, 1934, in Kansas City, Mo. He died March 2, 1991. A daughter, Margie Bausch, died July 16, 1944.

Survivors include two sons, Gerald Bausch, Mayetta, and Robert Bausch, Marion, Ill.; two daughters, Bonnie Olson, Pomona, and Donna Martin, Topeka; a sister, Catherine Green, Topeka; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Hoyt Cemetery. Visitation is from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church in Hoyt, 66440, or the organization of the donor's choice.
