James Robert Adams, 76, died Mon. June 1, 2009 at his home.

He is survived by his loving wife Anna Campbell Adams. He was born Dec. 15, 1932 in Harrison Co., KY to the late George and Elva Irland Adams.

He was a disabled Veteran of the U.S. Army, and worked as a mail carrier in Lexington, KY for the U.S. Post Office, he was a member and Elder of Oakland Christian Church.

Other survivors include sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jeannetta and Ron Springman of TN, numerous loving nieces, nephews, and cousins, and special friends David and Carolyn Willhoit. He was preceded in death by sisters; Imogene Whaley, Louise Dale, and Ruby Lathery.

Funeral services will be 2p Thurs. June 4, 2009 at Oakland Christian Church with Minister Scott Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery with casket bearers Michael and Tony Whaley, James Lathery Jr., Jimmy Lee Dale, Dewayne Adams, and Jimmy Willhoit.


Visitation will be 5-9p Wed, June 3 at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home, and 1p Thurs at the church prior to the service.
