Sep 1915 Obituary: Mrs. Lizzie Middlecoff died at her home, 5 miles east of Clinton in the Deer creek neighborhood, Tuesday evening at 6:40 o'clock. She had suffered from skin diseases for years, but aside from that was unusually strong for one of her age. Last Thursday she began feeling badly and Friday became very ill, and gradually grew worse until her death, which was caused by an internal growth. Deceased was born in Virginia, Feb. 15, 1829. She came to Missouri when a small child and has lived here ever since. When 19 years of age she married W. W. Cecil. Before the war they resided on a farm and in Leesville, after which they moved to Sedalia, where her husband run a store for many years. In 1885 he died. In 1888 she married J. W. Middlecoff who also preceded her to the Heavenly Home five years ago. When she married Mr. Middlecoff, his youngest son, Archie, was only 9 years old. She took the motherless little boy to her heart and raised him as if he had been her own. Ever since his father's death, Archie has tenderly cared for her, ministering to her every need and want. Deceased had been a member of the Baptist church, since her girlhood and was a faithful follower of her Master. she is survived by three brothers; Wm. Foster, near Quarles; James Foster, Oklahoma; and A. G. Foster, of Windsor.
