Jacob Russell Bunch Sr., 83, of South Court Street, Luray, Va. died Friday, November 21, 2008.

A native of Gliden, NC, Bunch was a manager at Reynolds Metals Company for 20 years.

He was a member, former Deacon and Sunday School teacher at Main Street Baptist Church.

Additionally, Bunch served as Past Master at Lafayette Lodge #137, A.F. and A.M. and was a member of the Luray Royal Chapter #4 and Luray Commander #19.

Bunch was an original member of the Luray Caverns Airport Commission and served on the Luray Town Council for 16 years.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Dovel Bunch; a son, Randy W. Bunch; two daughters, Rebecca George and Elizabeth Butler, all of Luray; one brother, Elmer Jarvis Bunch of Hobbsville; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Nov. 24 at Main Street Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Jolley and Pastor Buddy Caviness officiating. Burial followed, with Masonic Rites, at Beaham's Chapel Cemetery.
