Daughter of Thomas Robison and Jemima Dickey, Sarah Robison married Edward Morehouse Avery in Wooster, OH, on 14 Jul 1847. The couple had five children: Samuel Robison, James Warren, Katherine, Sarah, and Edward. The MO death certificate of Mrs. Avery indicates that she died at home of Brights Disease of eight weeks duration. Burial was in Bellefontaine Cemetery, 29 January 1894.
The notice of her death appeared in the "St. Louis Post-Dispatch," 27 January 1894, p. 7 (St. Louis Public Library):
AVERY—Suddenly at Webster Groves, on Saturday, Jan. 27, at 1:45 a.m., SARAH ROBISON AVERY, wife of Edward M. Avery, in the 66th year of her age.
Services at the Webster Groves Presbyterian Church, on Monday, Jan., 29, at 10:30 a.m. Interment private.
