Obituary - 24 July 1930
Rutherford Hayes Puckett, son of Hosiah and Sarah Puckett, was born April 18, 1879 at Stewart, Virginia, and departed this life July 2, 1930, at Minneapolis, Minnesota, being at the time of his death 51 years old.
Mr. Puckett was married on Sept.2, 1920, to Miss Maude Hamilton of Davis City, Iowa. To this union were born two sons, Robert Hays and Ray Lincoln, and one daughter, Mrs. Versal (Virginia) Seaman of Crookston, Minnesota, from a former marriage.
He is also survived by three brothers and four sisters of Snake Creek, Virginia, and a host of friends. Mr. Puckett was ordained a minister of the Methodist church. He passed away suddenly with a heart attack. Mr. Puckett was a man of sterling character and much ability and was loved by all who knew him.
Funeral services were conducted from the Hamilton home in Davis City on Monday July 7, interment at the Odd Fellows cemetery.
