He was born to the late Henry and Lois Green. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death, by an infant daughter, Sherri Green; three brothers, Daniel, Henry and James Green; and one sister, Alice Brenda Green.
George was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church in Albemarle County. He was employed by Tiger Fuel Company until his early retirement.
Cherishing his memory are his loving and devoted wife, Sheila Green; five children, Dolores Rush, Nicole Starkes, George Green II, Queshia Green and Therri Green; two stepchildren, Tiffanie Whalen and Christopher Coley; three sisters, Matilda Carter, Mary Lewis, and Jeanette Green; three brothers, Harold Green, Walter Green and Calvin Green; two aunts, Madeline Reaves and Betty Smith; and one uncle, Benjamin Smith; He also leaves behind to mourn his passing, 12 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
A memorial service celebrating his life was held Saturday, at Union Run Baptist Church in Keswick, Virginia, with Pastor Rickey E. White officiating and the Reverend Lloyd Feggans delivering the eulogy.
