LAURIUM — Frances E. Munch, 96, a former resident of Laurium, passed away on Thursday evening, October 1 6, 2003 at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility.
She was born on April 1, 1907, a daughter of the late Matt and Anna (Puhek) Likovich.
Frances attended the local schools in Calumet.
She worked for Vertin Brothers Department Store as a clerk and moved to Peoria, Ill. in 1940. There she worked for St. Francis Hospital in the cafeteria as a supervisor. Frances resided in Peoria until moving back to the Copper Country in 1978.
On June 19, 1935, she was married to Albert Munch and he preceded her in death on April 22, 1956.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers and six sisters.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and the Altar Society.
Surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 20, 2003 at 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Church with Fr. Abraham Mupparathara to officiate.
Friends may call at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday.
Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
The Erickson-Crowley Funeral Home in Calumet is assisting the family.
