WEATHERFORD -- Vera Mae Umphress, 90, a retired teacher, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at her home in Weatherford.

Graveside service: 10 a.m. Tuesday in Holly Hills Cemetery in Granbury. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at White's Funeral Home in Weatherford.

Vera Mae Umphress was born April 29, 1914, in Parker County, where she spent most of her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church and active in many community activities after retiring from 40 years of teaching. She will be missed by all.

Her husband, Grady Umphress, preceded her in death in 1984.
