William Otto Buchholz lived with his parents until he married, after the family moved to St. Louis in 1928 William started working as a clerk with the Wabash Railroad until 1931 when he obtained employment as a shoe worker. Then in 1932 as a copy carrier with the Post Dispatch newspaper with a promotion to proof reader in 1933 then in 1935 as a laborer and machinist in 1936.
After his marriage in 1937 he was employed at Anheuser Bush in the Bottling Shop as a foreman.
In 1962 Bill was working as a supervisor for General Motors Corporation of St. Louis, Missouri. Between 1963 and 1973 he was employed as a Welder for Fisher Body.
