His father was Isom Swilley and mother the former Miss Mary Harper. Mr. Swilley died at the age of 83. He was born in Irwin County April 18, 1869. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Beatrice Thomas, six daughters, Mrs. Edgar Whitley, Mrs. Orville Harper, Ocilla, Mrs. Calvin Lankford, Ocilla, Mrs. Varnelle Whitley, Ocilla, Mrs. Wesley Vickers, Ambrose, and Mrs. Curtis Vickers, Ambrose, four sons, Lonnie, Simon, Tillman and Waldo Swilley, all of Ocilla, 21 grandchildren and one sister Mrs. Tom Newbern of Tifton.
Pallbearers were his six sons-in-law, Edgar Whitley, Wesley Vickers, Curtis Vickers, Orville Harper, Calvin Lankford and Varnelle Whitley.
