"Sarah H. Black, 73, 942 Catherine St., died Aug. 25, 1966, 2:15 a.m., in a Salt Lake City hospital of natural causes. Born Jan, 31, 1893, in Cave Valley, Chihuahua, Mexico, a daughter of Joseph Warren and Jerusha Irine Spencer Hancock. Married Chester A. Black Dec. 24, 1913, in the Salt Lake Temple. Member, Rose Park 10th Ward. Former Relief Society president, stake missionary and seminary teacher. Author of several genealogy books, Employee, Genealogical Society, Charter member, Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Survivors: husband, son, daughters, LeRoy Chester, Buckeye, Ariz.; Mrs. George O. (Naomi) Cronish, Warner Robins, Georgia; Mrs. Norman (IreneO Wrigley, Longmeadow, mass., Mrs. Max (Iris) Syndergaard, Kaysville; Mrs. Donald H. (Millie) Anderson, Mrs. Fred W. (Florence) Bittner, both of Salt Lake City; brother, sisters, Louis A. Hancock, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Ether (Lucy) Black, Smithfield, Cache County; Mrs. Floyd (Hattie) Nielsen, Pendleton, Ore.; 22 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. Funeral Saturday noon in Rose Park 10th Ward chapel, 11th West 7th North. Friends call at 255 2nd East Friday, 6-8 p.m., Saturday on hour before services at the ward chapel. Burial, Elysian Burial Gardens."
