Lewisburg (RNS) - Henry L. Ballengee, 100 of Lewisburg died in a Beckley hospital at 3:30 p.m. Thursday after a long illness.
Born at Greenville, March 10, 1866, he was a son of the late John and Sarah Garten Ballengee.
He was a member or the Ronceverte Baptist Church, a Spanish American War veteran and a member of the Moose Lodge No. 1489 and a lifetime member of the Legion of the Moose, Kanawha Valley Chapter No. 123. He was a retired carpenter, a farmer and miner.
He had been living with a grandson Mr. and Mrs. Stacy Martin of Lewisburg.
Other survivors include 13 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
The body is at McCray Funeral Home in Lewisburg. Arrangements are incomplete.

Burial will be in the End of The Trail Cemetery near Clintonville. Ballengee died at 3:30 p.m. Friday in a Beckley hospital after a long illness. Pallbearers will be Tracy Hanson, Harry Loudermilk, Finn Spangler, Eugene Harvey, Hazel Walton and Fred Miller.
