Florence Bailey, 85, of Portland, treasurer of the Portland Kennel Club since 1947 and a longtime cocker spaniel breeder, died Friday in her home.
She was born Aug. 3, 1899, in Albany and lived in Portland for 75 years. She was active in both the kennel club and her breeding of dogs until shortly before her death. Her cocker spaniels won championships at many shows in both the United States and Europe. Her late husband, Robert R. Bailey Sr., owned and operated the Willamette Valley Transfer Co.
There will be no funeral at her request. Private entombment will be in Rose City Cemetery.
