Samuel Perkins was in Co. C confederate 21st Alabama Infantry in the Civil War. He enter as a private in December of 1861 at Mobile , AL and was captured by the "Yankees" in 1865. He is buried in the Fraternal Cemetery in the Pratt City area of Birmingham , AL. His grave has a
Woodman of the World marker and a Civil War Marker. Cordelia Law Perkins is also buried there. She received a Civil War pension of $75.00 every 3 months. Karolyn has copies of both his and Cordelia's Applications for the pension that they received and other records regarding his Civil
War service that Karolyn WITTE received from the AL Archives.
