She was born September 20, 1906, in Mt. Pleasant, IA, the daughter of Edward and Mary Buck Noble.
She married Ervin Egbert on December 8, 1943, in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1979.
She attended the Kirksville Teachers College in Kirksville, MO, and had taught school in Henry County, IA, before her marriage. She had lived in the Wyaconda area most of her life, moving to Kahoka, MO in 1995. She joined the Presbyterian Church at an early age. Gertrude treasured her family and friends.
She is survived by one step-son, George Egbert and his wife, Betty of LaFayette, GA; two step-daughters, Lois Pondo and her husband, Phil of Warren, MI and Lucille Brunk of Kahoka, MO; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grand-children; six great-great-grand-children; six nieces; three nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Clifford Noble and his wife, Hazel, Howard Noble and his wife, Marie, and Richard Noble and his wife, Bertha.
Graveside services were held July 13, 2002, at the Etna Cemetery in rural Wyaconda, MO with the Reverend Ernest Deatrick officiating. Burial was in the Etna Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Clark County Nutrition Center in Kahoka, MO. Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO was in charge of services.
