According to the sacramental marriage record for George Henry Thedick and Theresa Vonderhaar at St. Mary of Victories Catholic Church, 744 South Third Street, St. Louis City, Missouri, George's parents were Johann Heinrich Thedick and Catherine Otte and Theresa's parents were Hermann Heinrich (Henry) Vonderhaar and Margarete Engel (Angela) Otten.
Their children were Christina Maria Dina, Mamie Mary, Henry, and Helen Lena.
Most official records listed George and Theresa from Germany. The 1880 United States Federal Census recorded both from Holland. Gerhardt was usually written as Gherad H. or George; and Maria Theresa usually used her middle name Theresa. On his gravestone, his name was spelled Gerhardt.
Their only home from the day they were married until George died was at 1502 Closey Street, St. Louis City, Missouri. Once the city changed the name of the street but not the number to 1502 South 13th Street.
In the St. Louis City directory for 1890, George and Henry still lived at the home. George was a teamster by occupation, and Henry's trade was a machinist.
