Evelyn Newman Scalf - age 82 of Alcoa died Sunday, February 7, 2010 at U.T. Medical Center. She was a member of Green Meadow United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Scalf; parents, Buford "Mack" and Grace Newman.
Survivors include her children, Thomas Scalf Jr. Of Alexandria, VA, Dean and Debi Scalf of Morristown, TN, Andrew and Janet Hatcher of Louisville, TN, Rick and Anita Tipton of Friendsville, TN; grandchildren, Leanne Hankins of Martinsville, VA, Chris and Angie Boruff of Maryville, Jennifer Williams of Morristown, TN, Thad and Bea Scalf of Antioch, TN, Christi Selvage of Louisville, TN, Justin and Caroline Tipton of Austin, TX, Tiffany Tipton of Knoxville, TN, Richard and Gail Reynolds of Louisville, TN, Rachel Hovis of Kodak, TN; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Edna Newman of Knoxville, Mack and Barbara Newman of Chattanooga, TN; sister, Betty Piper.
Funeral services will be 6:00 P.M. Monday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Rev. Buzz Trexler officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. The interment will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
