Lester Fletcher Barker was the son of William Henry Barker and his wife Margaret Williamson.

On Dec 24, 1930 he became the husband of Laura Kelly. To this union were born twins, Beulah M and Buford Taylor, Ruby Lee, Clyde William, James Hollis, Mildred Culpeper and Thomas Harold.

His home was the residence of his widowed mother, Margaret E Barker until her death in 1934.
