Theodore Kantor, Sr., of Briarcliff, formerly of Yonkers, pased away on February 5, 2010 with his family by his side. Ted died one day after his nintieth birthday.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-four years, Martha. Loving father of Ted, Jr. and Sandra. Cherished Grandfather of Kyle and Samantha. He also leaves his devoted daughter-in-law Candice, and dear brother Russell. He was predeceased by brothers John, Steve, Alexander, George, and sisters Ann Walsh and Rose Arthurs.
Ted was a retired Yonkers Police Officer. He was a WWII Navy veteran who served proudly on the USS Battleship NJ with the distinction of being a plank owner. Ted was an avid golfer, loved playing his accordian, and was a Yankee fan.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 8, 2010 from 3:00-7:00 p.m., with Requiem at 5:00 p.m., at Beecher Funeral Home, 418 Bedford Road, Pleasantville. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, 46 Seymour Street, Yonkers, followed by burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, Hastings.
