Miss Ermina Athy Dies in Washington.
Miss Erminia Athy who left Hardin with her brother Daniel Athy about November 1st, 1924, to make their home for the Winter with their Sister Mrs. Nellie Bugg, of Centralia, Washington died in the city Wednesday morning of pneumonia. She was ill but a few days and her sudden death was a great surprise to her relatives and friends here in Alton. Miss Athy was well known in this section having held positions here as the court stenographer for Calhoun County, Illinois and other clerical positions before going west. She leaves 1 brother Daniel Athy, and 3 sisters, Mrs Nellie Elna Bugg of Centralia, Mrs Francis Elna Rose, of Kampsville, Calhoun, Illinois and Mrs Laura Fowler of Hardin, Calhoun County, Illinois and Mrs. Mary Agnes Meyers of Okalahoma.
She was preceded in Death by her Parents Mr. Edward C. Athy, and Henrietta Ruggles-Athy both died in 1931. and 3 infant brothers Edward Everett Athy, John Carlton Athy, Thomas Christopher Athy.
Miss Ermina Athy known as Minnie to her family, was born in Hardin, Calhoun County, Illinois in 1887. She had never married and had no children.
