H. A. Wroe was a son of William Thomas WROE of Tennessee and Bersheba Jane (KENNEDY) WROE of Texas. He married Pearl White in 1898, daughter of Thomas Jefferson White and Martha E. Phelps. Pearl was a half-neice of George W. Littlefield. Wroe was a banker in association with Littlefield and was Vice-President and then President of Littlefield's American National Bank in Austin, Texas. After Littlefield's death he was appointed by two different Governors of Texas to the Board of Regents of the University of Texas at Austin, serving from 1920-1927. He was a Mason and achieved the 33rd Degree in that organization.
