Bryce M. Davis, 83, died December 31, 2009 at his home in Nickerson. He was born November 4, 1926, in Dodge City, the son of William H. and Margaret I. Mathis Davis. He had attended Nickerson High School. A resident of Nickerson since 1982, he had lived in Colorado Springs for 22 years. He was a civil engineer and foreman for the water department at the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado. He married Thelma Lee Juby. They later divorced. He was a Chief Master at Arms with the 79th Seabee 7th Fleet in the United Sates Navy during WW II.

Survivors include his ex-wife, Thelma, Ft. Haddock, Washington, 2 sons, Bryce E. Davis, Lagarita, CO and Rick Luther, Wichita, 3 daughters, Ginger Davis, Hutchinson, Margaret Wright, Ft. Collins, CO, and Becky Davis, Nickerson, 5 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Norman Davis and 2 sisters, Imogene Post and Nadine Borders.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, with Pastor Travis Heneha presiding.

Cremation will take place following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society, both in care of the funeral home.
