Youngblood, Evelyn Janis
December 17, 1935 - February 5, 2010

Evelyn Janis Youngblood, 74, Diamond, Mo., went to be with the Lord Friday, Feb. 5, 2010.

Evelyn was born Dec. 17, 1935, in Diamond, the daughter of Raymond and Cleo (Albott) Bull.

She graduated from Diamond High School and was a lifelong area resident.

She married her high school sweetheart, Martin Youngblood, on Feb. 26, 1955, at Diamond, and they have shared 55 years of marriage together.

They raised their family on a farm in Diamond and are members of the Diamond Christian Church.

In addition to her husband, Martin, Evelyn is survived by four children, Deanna Caviness, Joplin, Bruce Youngblood, Diamond; Rhonda White, Carthage, and Doug Youngblood, Diamond; nine grandchildren, Erin Caviness, Tyler Caviness, Jessi Youngblood, Jake Youngblood, Grant White, Ivy White, Logan Myers, Dylan Myers and Carter Youngblood; one great-grandchild, Hunter Caviness; and two sisters, Colleen Cook and Joy Martin, both of Joplin.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Wylene Langford.

Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She loved God and lived her faith in her daily life.

One of the things she did to minister to people was to write notes of encouragement, writing at least 10 notes weekly.

It was her passion to cook for her children and grandchildren, and she will always be remembered by her grandchildren for her candy cabinet where she kept all of their favorite candy.

Evelyn was a cornea donor.

Services will be Wednesday, Feb. 10, at 2 p.m. at the Diamond Christian Church.

Rev. Mike Whorlow will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Diamond Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.

Contributions in memory of Evelyn may be made to AWC, Asian Women's and Children's Ministry in care of Clark Funeral Home, P.O. Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850.

Arrangements are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
