He married Sarah Kennedy on June 11, 1905. She was born February 16, 1873 and died October 22, 1933.

"JAMES A. HARRINGTON DIED AT SOLDIERS HOME, DANVILLE - James A. Harrington, 80 years old, life-long resident of Crawfordsville, died Wednesday night at 10 o'clock at the soldiers home at Danville, Ill. he had been in poor health for several years and his death was due to a complication of diseases.

Mr. Harrington was born in Fountain county and was a member of the Baptist church. He was a veteran of the civil war, in which he served with Company K, 86th Indiana Infantry.

Besides the widow he is survived by the following children; James and George Harrington and Catherine Harrington of Crawfordsville. Fred Harrington of Frankfort, Harry Harrington of Miami, Fla., Mrs. Sam Cash of Urbana, Ill., Mrs. Ethel Shirley, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and three step-children, Harold, Lucile and Marlin Zellars. The remains were brought from Danville and taken to the Proffitt & Sons chapel where funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. Odell of the Baptist church will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill." - Crawfordsville Journal, Friday, November 5, 1920
