Sumpter L. Pierce, farmer and lifelong resident of Tilden community died of a stroke Oct. 26, 1958 in Amory at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ethel Howell. He was 77.
Services were held Oct. 27 at Tilden Church of Christ with burial in the Union Grove Cemetery.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Bettie Ann Pierce; three sons, Marshall Pierce of Fulton, Lawrence Pierce of Amory and George Pierce of Jacksonville, Fla.; his daughter, Mrs. Howell; a brother, C. A. Pierce of Fulton; one grandchild
