" TELEGRAPH - SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 1924: YOUNG MAN DIES FROM AUTO ACCIDENT TODAY - Roadster Turned Turtle On Highway East of City - George Greenfield Is Killed ---
George Greenfield, age 18, of North Bend, Neb., lies dead in a local hospital this noon, as the result of an automobile collision ten miles east of this city, on the Lincoln Highway where a Lincoln sedan driven by John Cambin of Orange City, Ia., collided with a Maxwell roadster driven by Carl Neese of Denver, Colo. Both cars were headed toward North Platte and the accident occurred when the sedan attempted to pass the Maxwell.
The roadster went into the ditch turning over twice and throwing the occupants out. George Greenfield was picked up unconscious and rushed to a local hospital when examination showed him to have received a broken collar bone which had pierced the lung, causing violent hemorrhages. The accident occurred about 11:30 and Greenfield died at 1:30.
Neese, who was driving the Maxwell, was badly shaken up but received no major injuries.
The identity of Greenfield was established by a hunting license which was found in his pocket, and Mr. Forbes is trying to get in communication with relatives this afternoon. Greenfield, who was hiking across the country, met Neese at Lexington and was riding with him to North Platte.
The Cambin family were touring to California where Mr. Cambin goes in hopes of better health."
